Our family-owned company has been honored as a "Pioneering Business" in our town. We have a large amount of referral business due to our high level of customer service, next level installations and longevity in our community. You still call drop an envelope at the post office that just says "Uptight Carpet" on it with no address and it will be delivered to us.

We have a large amount of referral business and repeat clientele. We are recommended so frequently due to our family atmosphere, large and clean showroom and our customer service, combined with our efforts to find and keep very good installation mechanics. More than a few installers have been with our company for over 18 years! One of our installers was with us for 38 years and another who recently retired was with us for 31 years. We also make an effort to treat a problem situation like we would like an issue treated in our own homes. We have a very knowledgeable staff, very good installers, and we make a definite effort to take care of our customers!

History:
Over 45 years ago Dick Minshall opened Uptight Flooring to serve the Phoenix West Valley residents. The principles were simple; offer people unsurpassed quality at an affordable price and the growth will come through referrals. In 1984 Dick moved the business a few miles to its current location on Dysart Rd. After 20 years Dick began to think of retirement so he brought his son and daughter, Matt and Sarah, in to carry on his legacy.

Matt and Sarah expanded the showroom and added a new location in Avondale for do-it-yourself buyers. During the huge expansion of the west valley the showroom was remodeled and also used as a design showroom for some luxury custom homes being built while we still served the huge referral and repeat customer base they already had. While the competition came and went, Uptight weathered it out and stayed committed to the people in the area to stay and provide that personal touch type of service.

Today, the Uptight Flooring building is a landmark standing out from all the big corporate businesses brought in by the expansion. The core principles are still held by the family run business and Uptight Flooring is the standard by which the community defines excellence.

Sarah, daughter of Dick and Judy Minshall literally grew up in the flooring business. After exploring different careers, Sarah returned home and is enjoying the family business. She specializes in the Pebble Creek neighborhood.
