A practical, education-level class designed to expose students to basic tile installation materials, tools and methods. Instructor will discuss: the common misconceptions regarding ceramic tile and tile installations, the TCA Handbook, ANSI A108 Specifications, minimizing installation problems, working with installation materials, housekeeping, finishing and minor repairs. Course objective: Students should: have a greater understanding of the installation process, be able to use the TCA Handbook effectively, know how to mix and apply basic installation materials and be able to use and maintain tile installation tools. Tools required: Will be furnished with basic tools. Students must bring pencils, pens and notebook. Certification: None given. Students who complete this course are eligible to test and receive a certificate of satisfactory completion |
