Consider this...

The fact that you could drive a truck under that make-shift straight-edge might leave some the impression that the floor wasn't flat to begin with.

Especially since you mentioned that there were no gaps (as evidenced in the photo). Also from the photo, the wood looks tight, and nicely staggered.

But then again, I could be missing something...

no, it is buckled from moisture gain,
on site, MC is in the region's emc range by the chart,,,,near the
coast,
crawl space,
when they turn in the AC, it will condition the air, and then, a
moisture imbalance, what happens?

then, as time goes by, it will, as Jerry said, have to be grouted,

and if they continue the way they are, more and more moisture
issues from below

Looks to me like they are still working on the house huh? New construction?

I have to wonder in this information age we live in is how can a builder NOT know how to protect the flooring and subfloor? And the wood guys say nothing and do not check prior to installation????

Amazing

And Selva told me that the manufacturer came to the jobsite with no moisture meters.

No moisture meters? Are they too expensive for manufactures to supply to their reps? I know since I bought my professional kit from Tramex several years ago the price has gone up three fold. But the manufactures expect your run of the mill installer/contractor to have one and the reps do not? Maybe they just do not know how to use them?

Whats up with that?

I've personally spoken to several reps about issues I have had with their product. The guys may be great salesmen but actually do not know not very much about installation and manufacturing issues.

Why?

Because the manufactures want to hire warm bodies that have degrees in business and not necessarily flooring experience,

That said, I have also spoken to reps who know everything about their product and how it is to be installed, even those grey areas. Kudos to the wood adhesive people!

oh goodness!

here you go, rant and raving,,,,and I thought, you were going to
be, "moderate" Smile

the mill is a small operation, and he has no idea what to do or
how,,,,how a man could go into a biz without the basic knowledge
is beyond me, but, I guess, it is on the job training.

long day, will fuss at you tomorrow, Mr. Moderator! Smile
