Article NEW YORK, Aug. 17, 2016 – If you haven’t looked at the changes in Housing lately – at a special event on September 27at Florim Showroom in New York City – the IFDA New York Chapter will have three experts illustrate three iterations to help you choose which one or more will fit your business best and help you profit in the years ahead.

The “American Dream” of the single family home with the white picket fence is yielding to new formats forced by consumers whose needs have changed. Rethinking interior spaces and home products to furnish them is essential to fit new trends in living to maximize the beauty, comfort and functionality we all want in our homes.

The speakers:

1. CHRIS BLEDSOE, founding partner of Ollie/Stage 3 Properties will introduce you to SMALL SPACES. His company collaborated with nArchitects and Interior Design Director, Jacqueline Smith, in the development of Carmel Place, the first micro-unit condominium which opened in Manhattan in late May. You will learn of the many design challenges and how they were solved with complex plans, newly re-calibrated appliances and multi-functional furnishings. The target audience might surprise you.

2. KIM ASHBAUGH, Director of Next Gen Brand Management for Lennar, one of the leading home builders, is responsible for the expansion of the company’s MULTI-GENERATIONAL HOME model. To plan for multi-family occupancy right from the start before the house is built is a growing trend fueled as much by a yearning for closer human contact and a sense of community as it is by economic considerations. With Millennials living with their parents well into their early thirties or aging parents in need of family care, this is a winning formula for the “Sandwich Generation” but also appeals to “families” of friends who wish to live together.

3. GEOFFREY BRADFIELD, the highly regarded and justly celebrated interior designer with business partner Roric Tobin, primarily focus their work on LUXURY HOUSING more often than not demanded by the generation which has the most money to spend. That would be the “Forgotten Demographic” of those 55 and older with the highest level of disposable income surpassing any other. Geoffrey Bradfield will share some of his outstanding work commissioned by wealthy and savvy clients who demand the highest professional standards, the finest quality of work, a knowledge of the fine arts and antiques they collect and the luxury and comfort they expect for the way they like to live.

Moderated by: HERMINE MARIAUX, longtime editor of leading home décor publications, trend analyst and blogger. Founder of Branding and Licensing company representing high-profile clients. Board Member IFDA; Advisory Board, Home Dept., FIT.

A SPECIAL BONUS: The designer has generously donated signed copies of a lavishly illustrated book of his work (an $85 value) exclusively for this event.

The event will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016
