Green River Opens New Mill and Reorganizes Top Execs
Green River American Hardwood, a premium manufacturer and supplier of North American hardwood flooring for over 30 years, recently joined a successful consortium of vertically-integrated hardwood manufacturing partners in Upstate New York and announced a reorganization of top management, along with several other changes relative to this development.
Green River has promoted industry-veteran Scott Burega to National Director of Sales and Marketing. In addition to his time with Green River American Hardwood, Burega earned in-depth knowledge of the industry while serving the previous 12 years as head of purchasing for Hoboken Floors Boston location.
“Scott (Burega) has been a tremendous addition to Green River since he came on board,” said Randy Stertmeyer, CEO/President of Green River American Hardwood. “He’s been a great advocate for our customers, which led us to the decision of expanding his role and areas of responsibility.”
Additionally, Green River announced Lisa Bray has rejoined the company and been promoted to Customer Service Manager. Bray originally joined Green River in 2006, spending three years as a customer service representative. She has taken on additional responsibilities in her new management role, overseeing all Green River purchase orders, data management and production scheduling, while utilizing her close involvement to help identify needs, track trends and adjust production accordingly. Still, Bray identifies her primary responsibility as “making sure the customer keeps coming back happy.”
“Lisa (Bray) was the natural choice for us to fill the customer service manager position,” said Stertmeyer. “She did a great job for Green River and our customers in her prior role and we look forward to that continuing in the future.”
This reorganization comes as Green River completes construction of a new, modern and technologically advanced hardwood mill in Lee Center, NY, near its Oswego headquarters. The Green River – Delta Flooring Mill, slated to open in early February, features world-class equipment and dramatically increases Green River’s production capabilities. Green River will manufacture all of its natural and pre-finished solid hardwood collections at the new mill.
Also as part of these recent developments, Stertmeyer will take on the additional role of president for Green River’s finishing facility. Green River – SureLock, located in Oswego, represents one of the finest nano-technology finishing facilities in North America. All Green River American Hardwood pre-finished solid collections, including its new Classic Series of Red Oak, will utilize the Green River – SureLock facilities nano-technology finishing process. SureLock founder, Art “Brownie” Brown, will remain as a full-time consultant and team with Stertmeyer to manage this world-class operation.
