David Cicchinelli, a leading national expert in the carpet and hard-surface flooring industry, has been appointed general manager of Art Van Flooring, the new name for the retailer's Art Van World of Floors departments, as well as a vice president of Art Van Furniture. The announcement was made by Kim Yost, CEO of Art Van Furniture.

In his new position, Cicchinelli will be in charge operating and overseeing all aspects of Art Van Flooring. Over the last 20 years, Cicchinelli served as president, chief operating officer and chief executive officer of numerous, well-known national flooring chains including Carpetland, USA, ColorTile and CarpetMax in addition to creating his own consulting company, MVP Resources. The highly respected retail veteran began his career as a buyer and merchandiser for Levitz Furniture and Federated Department stores.
