Faus, Unilin settle patent dispute
Calhoun, Ga.—The Faus Group and Unilin have settled their legal disputes. The cases, which included actions in both Europe and North America, revolved around patents owned by each company.

As part of the settlement, the two entered into a cross-license agreement that will allow Faus to use Unilin glueless locking technology and will allow Unilin to use Faus’ surface technologies for laminate flooring. Thus, this agreement effectively marks a mutually beneficial conclusion to Unilin’s and Faus’ pending legal disputes.

“We are happy to cross licenses with Unilin again to put behind our disputes,” said Juan Flores, Faus’ president. “Of course, this is a great boost to our EIR (embossed-in register) and beveling intellectual property, which we are vigorously enforcing worldwide.”
