Shaw introduces ‘softest, cleanest, greenest’ nylon yet
DALTON—Shaw has added softer SKUs to its Evertouch carpet collection, introducing a new fiber technology that provides the “softest, cleanest, longest-lasting, greenest (did we say softest?) nylon carpeting ever.”

Sporting its new tagline in a variety of ways, the product was created for Evertouch, but will move forward with introductions within ClearTouch and Anso nylon during the company’s winter market events.

“Softer fibers in all product categories continue to gain momentum,” explained Steve Sieracki, vice president of product and category. “We have initiated innovative yarn development in all areas to make sure that softness is at the forefront of the development process.”

The six Evertouch introductions— Grand Via I and II, Playtime I and II, and Open House (S) and (B)—are rated 4-star and 5-star under Shaw’s Star Assurance, and 5-star styles are backed with SoftBac Platinum. All products are treated with Shaw’s R2X stain and soil resistance treatment, and, like all Evertouch nylon products, are made with recyclable type 6 nylon— recyclable in the carpetto- carpet model at the mill’s Evergreen nylon recycling facility. Products will carry the Shaw Green Edge and the N6 identification.

“Shaw is dedicated to continuous innovation and the creative development of our branded product collections,” Sieracki said. “We have a technology that offers the highest quality finished carpet product on the market.”

He noted the products were designed to capitalize on the looks and constructions selling in today’s marketplace, while offering consumers the softest and greenest product available. “This fiber is a game changer for Shaw and is better than any comparative nylon on the market today.”

The mill will continue offering a mix of nylon fibers in the Evertouch collection to hit all areas of texture, twist, loop and pattern and provide various applicable products at retail. “Soft will be our focus moving into 2009, but we will keep a strong Evertouch lineup,” Sieracki explained.

Most of the products will be added to the existing Everyday Elegance display introduced in 2007, but Shaw will also offer single products in the Philadelphia and Queen line.
