Mannington Mills Supports Local Community Through Art, Scholarships
SALEM, NJ – April, 2009 -- In step with its long commitment to doing the right thing, Mannington Mills’ Salem, NJ location is again launching two local philanthropic projects, Art is Cool and the Stand On A Better World Scholarship.

Entering its sixth year, the annual Art is Cool contest offers Salem County high school students the opportunity to showcase their talents. Art teachers submit original artwork done by their 9th through 12th grade students, which is then judged by a panel of Mannington design professionals. First and second place winners in each grade level are named and recognized at a reception for them and their families, hosted by Keith Campbell, Mannington’s Chairman of the Board.

Now in its fourth year, The Stand On A Better World Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to Salem County students who have demonstrated a commitment to community service and plan to continue their education beyond high school.

The scholarship is open to graduating seniors from Salem County high schools, and is funded entirely by associate donations. The Scholarship Committee holds fund-raisers to support the program, including Philly pretzel sales and “Jeans Day”, where associates pay $5 for the privilege of wearing jeans to work on Mondays.
