Contest Update: Top salespeople announced for April
The results are in, and three talented salespeople are $1,000 richer as Armstrong recently announced the April winners of its “What’s the Big Deal?” contest.

“This is the worst time to be selling flooring,” said Stanley Carvell of Florida, one of the winners. “But because of Armstrong and the contest, it gives you something to work for and has really helped me out.”

Carvell told FCNews that he, along with his entire store, is behind Armstrong for many reasons. “Armstrong is a leader in the industry. I know I can sell it with confidence and I believe in it 100%. And it’s not just the product. Our sales rep is terrific and we have a great distributor. Even in the rare situation when you have a claim, Armstrong takes care of it immediately.”

Brenda Kreeger, another $1,000 winner from Florida, cited Armstrong as having one of the best laminate lines on the market. Kreeger, a 45- year veteran of the flooring business, said, “The Grand Illusions and Park Avenue lines sell very well for me. We stock quite a bit of it and have it delivered by the truckload every two months.”

Carvell sang the praises of the recently introduced Armstrong products. “The Cherry Amber [engineered wood] is selling extremely well and has done so right out of the gate.” He explained many of the new styles have already taken over for some of the older designs. “All the new products are strong.”

Both winners agreed that Armstrong goes above and beyond as a flooring manufacturer. “Armstrong offers product knowledge classes, great brochures and intricate displays,” Kreeger said. And Carvell encourages his customers to go to Armstrong’s Web site to utilize a program where customers can upload a picture of their actual room and view different flooring styles.

What else differentiates Armstrong from its competitors? “I really like that Armstrong offers the topical moisture warranty,” Kreeger said. “It’s a great selling tool and I’ve used it myself when I had moisture problems in my home. Not many companies offer that.”

Both contestants competed in last year’s “What’s the Big Deal?” contest and did not hesitate to sign up again. “This is a great promotion and the best program I’ve ever participated in,” Carvell said. “My entire family is behind me, too. When I come home in the evening, my family doesn’t ask, ‘How was your day?’ Instead, they ask, ‘Did you sell any Armstrong today?’”

The third April winner, Michelle Houle of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, was not available for comment at press time.

It’s not too late to enter the contest and take advantage of the plethora of prizes. For more information on the “What’s the Big Deal?” contest, including how to enter, visit armstrongrewards.com.
