Tarkett doubling presence at Surfaces 2010
CHAGRIN FALLS, OHIO—Tarkett Residential will double its bet on the show floor at Surfaces in Las Vegas, Feb. 2 to 4, with a 2,000 square foot booth (5035)—twice the size of previous years—with several new twists to the space.

“Expanding our presence will provide an excellent forum to showcase the product advances that Tarkett has made over the past year to both our existing and prospective retailers,” said Gary Finseth, director of marketing. “This is a great opportunity to show them all in the place where real life happens—on floors.”

Rather than traditional product samples and displays, Tarkett is introducing “The Tarkett Home,” a furnished and accessorized house within the booth. The company’s products will be installed in the model home to give retailers an idea of the finished look, said Finseth.

The Tarkett Home will include a kitchen with cabinetry and appliances, a great room, a children’s playroom, a bathroom with a tub and sink, and a formal dining room. Bird’s eye—or “floor”—view videos will play as well, illustrating the daily wear and tear Tarkett flooring can withstand.

The home will also feature the HousePlan Flooring System to help retailers coordinate Tarkett flooring with decorative wall bases, room transitions and finishing accessories. HousePlan helps homeowners tie their rooms together effortlessly, said Finseth.

Additionally, the booth will incorporate new media developments with Tarkett’s online flooring visualizer, Roomvue. From a selection of preloaded vignettes, users can view various styles and patterns of flooring for each room but for more of a personal touch, users can upload photos of their own homes to preview products.
