Tennis Fans Go Wild on SmartStrand with Dupont Sorona Carpet at Mohawk Family Night
CHARLESTON (April 15, 2010)—Tennis fans at the Family Circle Cup tournament threw everything they could at Mohawk SmartStrand® with DuPont™ Sorona® carpet.
Literally.
Mohawk presented Mohawk Family Night at the tournament last night, treating kids 16 and under to free admission and letting everyone in attendance take their best shots at SmartStrand with DuPont Sorona carpet during the “Mess-Makers Challenge,” with events like “Bowling for Disaster,” “Red Punch Relay,” and “Balloon Toss” with mustard filled balloons. Participants had a great time creating a monumental mess.
But it wasn’t a problem for this exceptional carpet. After the fun, Mohawk Handyman Chip Wade led an on-site clean-up of this very same SmartStrand carpet, to prove just how remarkable it is. With water and mild cleaners, the SmartStrand Carpet with DuPont Sorona came clean.

One of the richest and most traditional events in women’s professional tennis, the Family Circle Cup attracts more than 90,000 people to watch many of the world’s best players, including Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Victoria Azarenka, and Caroline Wozniacki.
Mohawk is demonstrating the durability of SmartStrand carpet made with DuPont Sorona renewably sourced polymer by carpeting the stadium entrance and exit walkways, subjecting it tremendous foot traffic and soiling over the course the week.
