Mannington and Abbey Restructure Relationship
SALEM, NJ – May 10, 2010 -- As a result of a dispute over policy, Mannington has accepted Abbey’s decision that it will no longer be an “approved” supplier to Abbey members.

Mannington has maintained a long-standing policy that rebates will only be paid to retailers that maintain updated, current displays in their showrooms. Abbey’s demand that rebates be paid on all purchases regardless of the member’s support of Mannington has resulted in an unresolved dispute between the two companies. Consequently, Mannington has agreed to support their membership on a one-on-one basis.

Mannington will continue to pay member rebates in accordance with existing policies to Abbey Corporate through June 30, 2010. Mannington representatives will be contacting Abbey members on an individual basis to explore future alternative programs that are mutually beneficial.

“Mannington has enjoyed a great relationship with Abbey and its members for many years. We regret that this dispute has developed, but feel our policy is fair,” said Kim Holm, President of Residential Business, Mannington Mills. “As always, we strive to do the right thing and we’ll continue to work hard to earn the support of Abbey’s members.”
