Beaulieu Makes Changes To Keep Up With Demand
DALTON GA, September 23, 2010 As part of its ongoing effort to become the Supplier of Choice by providing its customers with the softest carpets possible at the best possible pricing, Beaulieu announced today that it will be closing its Royston spun yarn facility in Royston, Georgia, on November 26, while increasing production of softer BCF products at other locations.

“Balancing our capacities to meet the needs of the marketplace and our customers will only enhance our service capabilities,” commented Ralph Boe, President and CEO of Beaulieu of America. “While there will still be demand for spun yarn, the demand will be lower than in the past. Our soft BCF fibers in both nylon and polyester have gained tremendous momentum over the past year.”

Beaulieu announced that it will continue to develop the softer fibers along with other technologies that are customer-focused. “The decision, while always difficult, will allow us to make improvements at other facilities to keep up with the increased demand of our new soft products,” said Boe. “It is unfortunate that the Royston mill must be shut down, as our associates have been stellar performers producing excellent quality products for many, many years.”

As part of its mission to be the Employer of Choice, Beaulieu is offering employment to all 192 Royston associates willing to relocate and will provide them with moving assistance. For those unable to relocate, Beaulieu will provide resume building, interview skill training and job application assistance.
