Armstrong now in Climate Registry
LANCASTER, PA.—Armstrong achieved Climate Registered status with the Climate Registry. The organization is supported by states, provinces, territories and tribes, and measures, publicly reports and third-party verifies greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory according to the Registry’s voluntary reporting program.

Armstrong is the first and only company to date to have three years of global emissions records, from 2006 to 2008, verified in accordance with the Registry’s program. Armstrong was also recognized for committing to reduce its greenhouse gas footprint by 10% as part of the Climate Registered reduction program.

“Becoming Climate Registered isn’t easy,” said Diane Wittenberg, executive director of the Registry. “An organization needs to have measured its GHG footprints with accuracy, transparency and to verified international standards. No greenwashing here; that’s real environmental leadership.”

Armstrong joined the registry in 2008 “to provide a best-practices roadmap for reducing carbon pollution and, like a financial audit, get third-party verification that we’re tracking our progress correctly,” said Steve Pfeiffenberger, vice president, Environment, Health and Safety, Armstrong.
