Quick-Step’s Latest Proprietary Technology Creates “Totally New Modern Flooring Category”
“Quick-Step is widely-known for our leadership in using innovative technology to achieve exceptional visuals, at a price attractive to the majority of a retailer’s customers,” said Roger Farabee, senior vice president of marketing, Unilin, “Quick-Step has once again lived up to this reputation with the creation of our new, modern flooring product decórwood that offers consumers a truly authentic, rare exotic wood visual in 6-3/4 foot long planks, at an affordable price.”
Quick-Step’s proprietary use of cutting-edge “HiDef Color Fusion Technology” allows the brand to fuse color directly onto an eco-friendly substrate, composed primarily of pre-consumer recycled wood, and then finish each plank with a semi-gloss urethane coating just like that found on real hardwood. HiDef Color Fusion Technology creates unparalleled clarity, brilliance, and depth of color to achieve the stunning visual of a 6-3/4 foot long, luxurious plank floor of exotic hardwood. Use of this cutting-edge technology also makes decórwood available at a price attractive to even the most discriminating consumer in today’s world of smart price/value shopping. Before decórwood, it was financially and logistically virtually impossible for a consumer to dream of bringing a 6-3/4 foot long exotic hardwood plank floor into her home. With decórwood, this stunning visual is now an attractive option for most consumers.
The authentic, rare exotic wood visual of the installed decórwood floor is further heightened by the large number of unique planks, just as would be found in a real hardwood floor. The durable, semi-gloss urethane finish of decórwood has exceptional wear resistance and offers a 35-Year Finish Wear Warranty.
Decórwood planks are stable in all climates and cannot delaminate the way engineered wood can. Decórwood also resists face checking which often occurs with some hardwood floors. Decórwood planks are far more dent and impact resistant than domestic exotic hardwood and most tropical exotic hardwood.
Available in four popular exotic species: Brazilian Walnut, Golden Eucalyptus, Claret Cherry, and Garnet Tupelo, decórwood planks use coordinating hardwood moldings to finish off the rich look of an ultra-long plank, exotic hardwood floor. Decórwood’s 3/4” thick planks are 6-1/8” wide x 80-1/16” long with elegant kissed edges/ends. Decórwood’s superior photosensitivity rating means there will be virtually no color change, so planks retain the original brilliance of their design color and clarity.
Decórwood features the patented Uniclic glueless installation locking system that offers easy installation and requires no glue, nails, or staples. In addition to bringing down the total cost of the installed floor for both contractors and consumers, Uniclic also puts installation within the skill level of the average homeowner, making it an attractive option for a retailer’s DIY customers.
A decórwood display is available and provides retailers with an effective way to showcase the beauty of the product’s design and color through full, long plank samples. The display’s small footprint makes it easy to place in any showroom. Decórwood room scene graphics featured on the display help a consumer visualize what the rich look of an ultra-long plank, exotic hardwood floor could look like in her home. Display dimensions are 84-1/2” h x 42-5/8” w x 15-1/2” d.
