Mannington Launches Campaign in Support of U.S. Domestic Manufacturing
Mannington Launches Campaign in Support of U.S. Domestic Manufacturing Salem, New Jersey (March 4, 2011) – Mannington Mills today announced the launch of Let’s Make Some Noise, a campaign promoting domestic manufacturing.

“America is rediscovering the importance of manufacturing for our economy, and for our future,” says Keith Campbell, Chairman of the Board of Mannington Mills. “Nowhere is this more important than when it comes to domestic jobs. Jobs build communities, industries and economies; when jobs disappear, so does our ability to stand strong and grow.”

The unique history of Mannington is an American manufacturing success story. When Mr. Campbell’s great-grandfather, John Boston Campbell, founded the company in 1915, one of his goals was to improve quality of life in his community by providing jobs for his neighbors. When the Great Depression hit, Mannington fought to keep the factory open not only for the health of the company, but also for the health of the families who depended on the mill for their livelihoods.

Today, Mannington is one of the world's largest and most diverse flooring manufacturers, making products that range from carpet to rubber, from hardwood to resilient flooring. And today, Mannington is still committed to providing jobs and elevating quality of life in the communities where they have manufacturing plants.

Towns in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey and North Carolina depend on Mannington not only for jobs, but also for residual economic development through dollars brought into local restaurants, businesses, nonprofits and schools. Many of the plants are in rural areas; without Mannington, whole communities would be profoundly changed.

“Ours is more than the story of a product made in the U.S.A.,” says Campbell. “It is a history of deep commitment to domestic manufacturing – to keeping people employed and creating quality American-made products.”

The cornerstone of the campaign is a video featuring Mannington employees, manufacturing facilities and communities. The video, posted to YouTube, can be viewed and shared from www.ManningtonMakesNoise.com.

One of the largest flooring companies in the U.S., Mannington Mills, Inc., based in Salem, NJ, is the only North American company engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of residential and commercial resilient, laminate, hardwood and porcelain tile floors, as well as commercial carpet.

Founded in 1915 by John Campbell, the company is still privately held. After 93 years, the company continues to pursue its commitment to quality, customer satisfaction and the environment through innovative product design and marketing, state-of-the- art technology and industry-leading programs.
