Murray to head Shaw’s eco efforts
DALTON—Paul Murray has joined Shaw Industries as vice president of sustainability and environmental affairs. He replaces Rick Ramirez who left the company to take a similar position outside the industry.

Murray comes to Shaw after spending the last 20 years with Herman Miller, most recently as its sustainable business practices leader. During his time at the office furniture giant, Murray helped to establish the company’s Environmental Quality Action Team (EQAT). Through EQAT and other programs, Herman Miller achieved high-profile recognition for being an environmentally progressive company, including a presidential citation.

In 2006, Murray was not only named Herman Miller’s director of environmental safety and sustainability, he was recognized in a Vanity Fair issue on green, specifically a story titled, “The Re-Innovators: Green Architects and Designers.”
