Mohawk Sponsors Star-Studded Country Concert Fundraiser for Operation Finally Home
LAS VEGAS, Nv. February 5, 2014— Last month, Mohawk announced the company’s largest commitment to date with Operation Finally Home, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing custom-built, mortgage-free homes for wounded and disabled veterans, as well as spouses of the fallen. The company has committed to donating flooring – including carpet, hardwood, laminate and ceramic tile – for 30 homes this year and, as a result, Mohawk will be named the exclusive national flooring provider of Operation Finally Home.

Additionally, at the 2014 International Builders’ Show, the company served as a title sponsor of a private fundraising concert with country music legend Kix Brooks at the House of Blues in Las Vegas.

David Holt, Mohawk’s senior vice president of builder and multifamily business, says that Operation Finally Home embodies values that the entire Mohawk family holds dear—from employees to its partner builders and their customers.

“As part of the homebuilding industry, we have the opportunity to put our tools and talents to work for men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have been wounded or disabled in the line of duty,” explained Holt. “At Mohawk, we take great pride in our rich, 135 year history. Our success and longevity speaks to the American spirit, and the hard work and determination of our workers past and present. Showing our appreciation to our veterans through our partnership with Operation Finally Home by helping them when they return home is a tremendous privilege. We are honored to be a part of what the organization is doing and look forward to watching the partnership grow in the future.”

This is Mohawk’s third year partnering with Operation Finally Home. The organization joins forces with corporate sponsors, builder associations, builders, developers, individual contributors and volunteers to help severely wounded war heroes or spouses of fallen soldiers and their families succeed in a world full of new challenges. Houses built through Operation Finally Home are custom-designed to accommodate the varying special needs and unique challenges of each of the soldier recipients. Physical limitations, necessary medical equipment and supplies, even service animals are new considerations for severely wounded and disabled service members. They face physical and emotional disabilities and often overwhelming financial difficulties as well. Operation Finally Home alleviates a major hurdle for veterans by providing new homes that are mortgage-free, giving the soldiers and their families a chance to focus on rebuilding their lives.
