Innovations Abound at NeoCon East
Baltimore, MD (October 14, 2014) The 12th annual NeoCon East will bring the best new products for commercial interiors to market. Exhibiting companies will showcase what’s next, addressing current cultural and aesthetic shifts across vertical sectors including Workplace, Hospitality, Healthcare, Education, Retail and Government.

Julie Amato-Kohl, vice president of NeoCon East exhibitor sales, remarks, “Our attendees work across multiple disciplines from government projects to healthcare. With over 200 exhibiting brands, this is the most comprehensive showcase of products for creating innovative-design, best-value and high-performing interior spaces.”

Attendees can expect to find the following themes and innovations woven throughout the NeoCon East booths:

Commercial Spaces That Don’t Feel Commercial:
• Heavy traffic and haute design converge as first-time exhibitor Nemo Tile presents Oxy, a wood line reminiscent of weathered planks hewn from old-growth trees. With an immutable high-tech finish, this wall or flooring material can stand up to commercial applications yet boasts a chic residential look.
• Bentley’s “Light Play” Collection, designed by Robert AM Stern, is inspired by light striking architectural elements and offers a warm, high design, residential element to any application.
• The colorful and curvaceous Swift Lounge Seating by National Office Furniture looks and performs just as well in a major corporation or institution as it does in a living room.
• Parterre’s Vertu Resilient Plank Starry Oak is composed of 33 new vinyl flooring designs, which are a compilation of contemporary, seasoned and whitewashed woods that are ideal for creating a homelike feel in commercial interiors.
• Lonseal’s Londante Collection features one of the warmest yet boldest palettes that Lonseal has ever offered. The resilient sheet vinyl comes in seven colors and features a decorative cross-hatch pattern imparts a distinctly Italian flavor to any interior space, from corporate offices to hospitality spaces to healthcare patient rooms.

Wellness and Modularity In Demand:
• The pervasive awareness of "sitting disease" and the negative impact that sitting all day has on the health and wellness of employees has led Innovative Office Products to create the Winston Workstation, a freestanding, sit/stand workstation that retrofits into any existing desk, offering the opportunity for users to easily go from sitting to standing throughout their day.
• Nucraft’s Tesano is a standing-height, powered table that allows for easy and elegant collaboration in the workplace, thereby promoting wellness by increasing pleasant productivity. It is designed with an optional monitor-support end piece to take advantage of video sharing technologies.
• Watson’s Miro Collection is designed to encourage movement by allowing users to work at multiple levels through adjustable work surfaces or a range of table heights. The Miro workbench piece, which fits into the modular line, will be introduced at NeoCon East.
• Ideal for everything from healthcare to government applications, Amcase’s Makore line of concealed and suspended wall designs allow for a healthier environment. Drawers, cabinets, and shelves are mounted higher for easier access and less bending. Zero floor space occupancy means lower maintenance and cleaner rooms.

Permanence is the Word /Built To Last:
• Borgo Seating’s Flex Chair was conceived with a meaningful lifespan in mind. Composed of 100% recyclable, engineered polymer that responds to the movements of the user, it is so durable it can withstand a static load of 220 lbs of pressure, while remaining unaltered. Its indestructibility means it will last for generations.
• Made to last, Thos. Moser Contract’s Cumberland Chair employs time-tested design, evidenced in its use of a traditional double-housed mortise and tenon joint.
• Mohawk Group’s New Vintage Collection features natural colors and textures with over-dyed bights that draw influence from the antique look of handmade rugs, while integrating the latest fabric technologies.
• Egan Visual Inc.’s EganAero Boxcore markerboard is composed of state-of-the art materials. Featuring Corning® Gorilla® Glass, the world’s thinnest and lightest markerboard is also one of the toughest. The seemingly delicate design is constructed using Egan Boxcore™ technology, which increases board quality and durability.

Integrating Intelligence and Mixing Materials:
• Pop and Flash flooring solutions, from JJ Flooring’s Kinetex brand is a hybrid of soft-surface and hard-surface flooring.
• Julie Industries’ OfficeSmart flooring series is intelligently designed for high traffic use and networked environments to minimize nuisance static.
• For smart lighting, Lux Lighting’s Brooklyn touch activated LED Task Light fits the bill, boasting integrated USB ports and clever international AC outlets for charging devices.
• AB&D Furniture incorporates multiple materials into its office products like the Form desk with storage; including plastic laminates, wood, metals and acrylics; creating pieces that are timeless and fresh.
• Solving a common problem in a savvy way, FLAT Tech Inc. introduces its FLAT table base, which eliminates the “wobbly table” problem that plagues so many establishments. Stability and alignment is achieved through an award-winning, patented hydraulic system.

High Tech & Modular:
• The time for moveable walls has arrived. With benefits such as flexibility, speed of installation and low environmental impact, these architectural solutions are top of mind. Nxtwall, Nello, Dorma and freeAxes will educate attendees on the importance of walls and floors in achieving high-performance workspaces. For many manufacturers, this is their fastest growing segment.
• Takeform (GOLD-BON) is integrating way-finding and signage into their revolutionary wall panels.

Best of NeoCon (BON):
• Furniture, fabrics and flooring make up the bulk of the exhibitor base with notable Best of NeoCon winners including Teknion, Knoll, Steelcase, Nucraft, OFS, Davis, Krug, and CF Stinson.
• In the flooring sector, Mohawk Group and Patcraft both have new innovations in modular carpet with their BON winning products. Tandus Centiva received 4 BON awards and Shaw won Gold for new healthcare flooring.
