Karastan Introduces Diverse Styles in Wool and Wool Blends in Fall 2014
SUGAR VALLEY, GA, October 16, 2014: The aptly named Sovereign Collection from Karastan has floored summer markets with its regal ambiance, lush designs and stunningly rich colors. This fall it is joined by three wool blend collections that are all signature Karastan in style and performance.
Sovereign Collection
Woven on Axminster looms in the USA of soft 100% New Zealand wool, the Sovereign Collection exemplifies the style and luxury to carry on the Karastan legacy. It combines technology, performance and design to create rugs that are both innovative and timeless.
Sovereign rugs feature reimagined traditional patterns with updated modern colors. The colors used in the creation of this collection have been individually skein dyed and finished with Karastan’s patented Lustre-Wash process to replicate the look and feel of magnificent hand-knotted rugs.
Bravado Collection
European and Persian textile traditions create a modern mix of excitement and elegance in the bold, sophisticated Bravado Collection from Karastan. Abstract shapes are poised on intricately striated backgrounds in a vivid spectrum of jewel tones for astounding beauty. These beautiful rugs are woven on Axminster looms of a 80% wool/20% nylon blend of space-dyed yarns in the USA.
Evanescent Collection
The Evanescent Collection from Karastan is exquisitely crafted of shimmering silk blended with fine wool to give an opulent look with rich texture and sophisticated style. Woven on Axminster looms, these designs have an Old World refinement: the colors are earthy and the patterns are reminiscent of ancient courtyards, secret panels, and exotic trellises. Abrash effects give these rugs a timeless quality.
Prima Shag Collection
This sumptuous collection has a sophisticated, modern style that is accentuated by repeating motifs and elegant neutral colors. Made in Belgium of a wool/polypropylene/polyester blend on Van de Wiele looms, this cut pile shag offers clean geometric patterns in a beautiful variety of subdued colors to add rich textural interest to any room.
