Imagine Tile Launches Bibliophile Collection Designed by nemaworkshop
NEW YORK, NY -- December 3, 2014 -- Imagine Tile, Inc. an industry leader pioneering the use of high-resolution imagery on commercially rated tile, in collaboration with architecture and design studio nemaworkshop, is pleased to launch the Bibliophile Collection. Inspired by the iconic New York Public Library, the 48-inch by 96-inch repeating mural depicts a high-resolution bookcase in brown scale tones on 18 different 16-inch by 16-inch commercially-rated ceramic tiles in a matte finish.

The tile was initially created when nemaworkshop was tapped to design a coffee shop in Manhattan, located near the New York Public Library at Bryant Park. Although the mural was intended as an exclusive material for the cafe, after garnering attention, Imagine Tile and nemaworkshop recently decided to make the product available to the design community.

“The Bibliophile Collection is a great example of the many custom collaborations we do with designers.” said Christian McAuley, president of Imagine Tile. “When nemaworkshop came to us hoping to create a 32 square foot repeating bookcase mural for a hospitality application, we said no problem. We worked with them to create, alter and perfect the images, resulting in a repeating, life-like pattern that we’re really proud of.”

Using a patented process, the commercially rated tiles feature a high-resolution pattern, giving them a 3-D effect. The tiles are suitable for indoor and outdoor use, contain no VOC’s and are made with durable, easy to clean, eco-friendly ceramic. The tiling is resistant to strong chemicals, UV lighting and can contribute credits for buildings obtaining LEED certification.

“Our studio strives to create bold concepts that push design boundaries,” explains Anurag Nema, principal and founder of nemaworkshop. “Our biggest challenge is finding manufacturers who can help us execute our ideas. Imagine Tile turned our concept into a tangible product suitable for floor, wall and ceiling application.”

Named after someone who loves or collects books, The Bibliophile Collection is now in stock and available for immediate purchase at $20 per square foot. Tile dealers are welcome to contact Imagine Tile with any questions about carrying these products in their showrooms.
