Dallas, January 15, 2015 – Flooring Industries, the patent and licensing business unit of the Unilin group, has filed an invalidation action against the Dutch part of Innovation 4 Flooring’s (I4F’s) European Patent EP 2 440 724 before the court of The Hague in the Netherlands. The EP 2 440 724, which describes I4F’s Clic4You and Triple Lock technologies, is the only granted European patent that I4F currently has on this technology.

Unilin is of the opinion that the Clic4You and Triple Lock technologies, which I4F offers to flooring manufacturers, infringe on several of the Unilin and Pergo locking patents. Unilin will, in order to protect the interest of its licensees, be forced to act against such products that allegedly fall within the scope of its locking patent portfolio, if such products enter the market without license under the relevant Unilin and Pergo patent rights.
