Inspector Training Services Resilient Class in Dalton, GA
This is a 2 day course that will cover Substrates, Resilient and LVT Flooring Products. The course will breakdown and explore issues/concerns related to manufacturing, installation, and consumer/site-related incidents. This course will also include in-class demonstrations using proven procedures and techniques to evaluate flooring problems with accuracy and confidence. Students will also break-up into smaller groups to allow for hands-on experience so that proper inspection techniques can be learned and developed during the class.

Topics to be covered include:

• Where most hard surface flooring problems begin. ITS will cover on and below grade concrete slabs, as well as wood subfloors. Underlayments, patching compounds, and their proper uses will be reviewed. Trouble shooting concrete and subflooring related failures/problems will be covered. Flatness/smoothness problems (and how to measure it), moisture testing, and dew point will be examined as well.

• ITS will address a variety of products on the market today, including Rotogravure, Inlaid, Linoleum, LVT. What these products are, how they are made, and their installation procedures will be taught.

• The manufacturing process and inherent characteristics of the product will also be discussed.

• Manufacturing, Installation, and End User related concerns will be addressed. Hands-on examples of manufacturing related concerns will be looked at as we go through the manufacturing process, along with inspection techniques to properly identify the cause of the problem.

• Manufacturer’s requirements, their uses, and related adhesive failures will be addressed, along with proper inspection techniques and sample collection.

• Installation Procedures: Dissecting and understanding manufacturing installation instructions is critical!. Installation-related issues/failures and the inspection techniques required to identify these concerns will be discussed and inspectors will be given the opportunity to practice hands-on.
