Ecore Sponsors Betterhalves event at Starnet
Lancaster, PA (May 13, 2015) – Ecore, a company that transforms reclaimed waste into unique surfaces that make people’s lives better, was recently the main sponsor at the Starnet Betterhalves' philanthropic and networking event, Build-A-Bike, at the 2015 Starnet Spring meeting in Tucson, Ariz. At this event, volunteers built bikes for children of families sustaining the loss of a parent or sibling.

“We really appreciate Ecore sponsoring this year’s Starnet Betterhalves’ Build-A-Bike event,” said Lizzie Zmijewski, Starnet Betterhalves' Coordinator. “From Ecore’s sponsorship, 52 men and women in the flooring industry or that are related to someone in the Starnet consortium were able to come together and build 7 bicycles for local Tucson kids, almost all of whom have never owned or rode a bicycle before.”

These bikes were then provided to Tu Nidito, which means “little nest” in Spanish, a local organization where Tucson children can go to receive support after the diagnosis of a terminal illness of a loved one or a death of a sibling or parent(s).

“Ecore is proud to support organizations like Tu Nidito,” said Arthur Dodge, III, president and CEO of Ecore. “Bringing the flooring industry together to support the local community is a win-win for everyone involved.” Ecore also plans to sponsor the Starnet Betterhalves event in Miami in 2016.

Starnet is comprised of over 170 locally owned full-service flooring contractors representing more than 300 locations throughout North America. Starnet’s annual spring membership meeting consists of committee meetings, strategy planning, training sessions, networking with vendor partners (like Ecore), and is the place where the prestigious Starnet Design Award winners are announced.

About Ecore
Since 1871, Ecore has been transforming reclaimed waste into unique surfaces that make people’s lives better. What started with simple cork closures has evolved into a diverse portfolio of products solving complex problems in applications ranging from playgrounds, weight rooms, and turf fields to hospitals, hotels, and retail environments. We are driven everyday by a simple question, “Can a floor do more?” At Ecore, we believe the answer is “YES.” We are building our company and the products we offer based on the simple notion that floors should elevate beyond current expectations. Our energy is focused on the interaction between people and the surface. We engineer performance well beyond industry standards related to acoustics, ergonomics, and safety. Harvesting the unique power from a myriad of waste streams, Ecore creates products that align–substantial force reduction with a balanced amount of energy return to create dynamic surfaces that are catered to the individual and the application.

Ecore is comprised of four business units include Ecore Athletic, Ecore Commercial Flooring, Ecore Industrial, and Ecore Construction. To learn more, visit www.ecoreintl.com.
