Quick-Step Used In "Bedroom For A Cleveland Cop" Episode Of "Fix It Finish It"
Dallas, TX – May 11, 2015 – Quick-Step was recently featured in the “Bedroom For A Cleveland Cop” episode of Antonio Sabato, Jr.’s television series Fix It Finish It. Mark Ramsey of Ohio is a fulltime cop and a part-time firefighter. He and his wife Ann had a bedroom that needed help, so Antonio and team were determined to create a stylish bedroom for the couple — in just one day! Fix It Finish It’s interior designer selected Quick-Step’s Manor Oak flooring to help turn a “dreary” space into a tranquil, bedroom oasis for this hard-working cop/fireman and his wife.

Remove That Stained Carpet!
“When I walked in here, this carpet this morning … it was stained … I couldn’t wait to just take it out & give it away forever!” said Antonio Sabato, Jr., DIY expert and host of Fix It Finish It, to the Ramsey family during the new bedroom’s big reveal.

In place of the shabby carpet, the show’s interior designer, Clara, brought the rich, character look of reclaimed, vintage hardwood to the room with a Manor Oak floor from Quick-Step’s bestselling Reclaimé Collection. The rustic elegance of Quick-Step’s high quality laminate planks served as a beautiful design foundation upon which the team would create the Ramsey’s dream bedroom!

Total Transformation – In Just One Day!
With the show’s aggressive one-day-room-transformation deadline, Quick-Step was the perfect flooring choice — a floor with enduring beauty, but quick and easy installation! Quick-Step floors are easy to install, because they feature the patented Uniclic glueless installation locking system. Planks simply click together to form a lasting connection. The team laid the entire Quick-Step floor in no time!

W-O-W Design … From “Stark To Sophisticated”
“Wow … this is amazing … wow … this is beyond what we even pictured!” exclaimed the Ramsey’s with delight during the bedroom’s big reveal.

“Before the renovation, the Ramsey’s described their original bedroom as ‘dreary and depressing,’” said Paij Thorn- Brooks, vice president of brand marketing for Quick-Step. “The before photos show a room that was stark and inexpensive-looking, with no discernable design style. The walls were plain white, the bedspread an ordinary navy, and mismatched furniture was sprinkled around the room, all on top of tan carpet.”

“Under the interior designer’s guidance, the room went from stark to sophisticated!” said Thorn-Brooks. “The inexpensive-looking room that lacked any sense of style was transformed into a sophisticated space that was beautiful, harmonious, and tranquil. I can see that the designer used an ‘Oreo cookie’ type of layering effect throughout the room to achieve balance and flow … dark-light, dark-light. Starting at the bottom with a rich brown Quick-Step floor, she added a light rug, then the dark brown wooden base of the bed, topped with a light bedspread, and so on.”

“In the transformed bedroom, three of the walls were painted a soft grey and an accent wall showcased a lovely wallpaper,” said Thorn-Brooks. “Without being overbearing, the wallpaper presented all of the major colors used in the room (cream, brown, and blue) in a soft, fern pattern. All colors flowed softly & nicely together throughout the room. The fabric of the throw pillows, the bedspread, and the wallpaper selected by the designer all featured some type of patterned, textured, or shimmery visual, providing a sense of movement & lightness in the room. Silver metal accent pieces and new lighting in the room, played nicely off of the shimmer of the fabrics.”
