Lewis Bros. Lumber Co. Receives NWFA/NOFMA Certification
ST. LOUIS, Missouri (August 27, 2015) – The National Wood Flooring Association has announced that Lewis Bros. Lumber Co. in Aliceville, Ala., has earned the NWFA/NOFMA Mill Certification.

“We are glad to add Lewis Bros. as another committed partner in the NWFA/NOFMA certification program,” said NWFA President & CEO, Michael Martin. “This quality-verification program is about maintaining a high standard in the industry, but it also is about uniting manufacturers that share this understanding. Together, we are building an ever-strengthening program.”

Jeff Lewis, President, and David Lewis, Vice President, are third-generation owners of Lewis Brothers Lumber Co. (LBLC), which was started in 1948 by A.B. Lewis. LBLC manufactures grade hardwood lumber offered in red oak, white oak, poplar and ash. The company opened its flooring division this year, offering red oak and white oak in Select/Btr, No. 1 and No. 2 in 2¼ and 3¼.

“We provide air-dried and kiln-dried lumber, and have been exporting to Europe and Asia for more than 30 years,” said Jeff Lewis. “Although we are new to the flooring market, we are extremely proud of the product that we manufacture. The NWFA/NOFMA certification is another way to show that we are committed to our products.”

The NWFA/NOFMA certification shows that a manufacturer’s wood flooring meets or exceeds the industry standards for grade, configuration, moisture content, and average board length. Certified mills are inspected a minimum of two times per year to ensure consistent grade standards are met.
