Puppy Power Drives National Awareness for Pergo
DALLAS, TEXAS, Sept. 8, 2015 — Advertising is going to the dogs these days … well the Pergo dogs. The brand kicks off its third quarter media flight with an attention getting television spot starring Pergo, the Great Dane, and a band of furry friends. The commercial was highlighted during its first week of airing by Ad Age, one of the advertising industry’s most trusted publications and received a 96% “Spot On” positive rating from views on iSpot.tv, an online broadcast rating service.

In the commercial the family leaves Pergo the dog alone in the house while taking an afternoon excursion. With the family away Pergo invites the neighborhood canines over for a little mayhem. Mud is tracked throughout the house, food is dropped, soda is spilled and the floors are scuffed. Then a car appears in the driveway and the canine crew must quickly clean the home. But it’s no problem, the house is cleaned and the floor is left unscathed!

Fitzgerald & Co, the agency of record for the Pergo brand, developed the clever spot that currently appears on a number of national cable networks including HGTV, DIY Network, TLC, National Geographic and The Travel Channel.

“Our strategy is to use paid media to help ramp up traffic and build awareness during the pre-holiday season,” said Paij Thorn-Brooks, Vice President of Brand Marketing for Unilin North America. “This particular spot was selected because it grabs viewers and draws them in while demonstrating the durability of the product.”
In addition to paid media, Pergo plans to continue to drive awareness through a variety of communication channels including social media and targeted digital and in-store promotions.
