Missouri Hardwood Receives NWFA/NOFMA Certification
ST. LOUIS, Missouri (January 14, 2016) – The National Wood Flooring Association has announced that Missouri Hardwood, in Birch Tree, Mo., has earned the NWFA/NOFMA Mill Certification.

“We are pleased to add Missouri Hardwood to the growing list of NWFA/NOFMA certified mills,” said NWFA President & CEO, Michael Martin. “This program is designed to recognize mills that voluntarily commit to meeting and exceeding industry standards for flooring appearance and performance. It ensures the high quality today’s consumers have grown to expect.”

The company, which has been in business since 1911, manufactures ¾” solid flooring in widths ranging from 2¼” to 5”. It specializes in native Missouri species, including red oak, white oak, hickory and walnut.

“Missouri Hardwood is pleased to rejoin NOFMA after nearly a 10 year absence,” says Jeff Davis, Vice President of Marketing, for Missouri Hardwood. “We have a long history with NOFMA and pride ourselves in attention to detail. Our customers appreciate our precise milling and the color and hardness of our lumber. Having continuous membership from the early 1930s thru 2006 has made NOFMA part of the culture and heritage at Missouri Hardwood. We are proud to be a member of the organization again. The NWFA/NOFMA certification is another way to show that we are committed to our products.”

The NWFA/NOFMA certification shows that a manufacturer’s wood flooring meets or exceeds the industry standards for grade, configuration, moisture content, and average board length. Certified mills are inspected a minimum of two times per year to ensure consistent grade standards are met.
