City Floor Supply Commemorates the One Year Anniversary of the Fire that Destroyed their Distribution Center
King of Prussia, PA (PRWEB) May 19, 2016 - May 17, 2016 – marks the one year anniversary of the fire that leveled City Floor Supply’s (formerly Philadelphia Floor Store) warehouse and distribution center. While thankfully no one was injured, the flooring distributor suffered immeasurable losses in terms of inventory and equipment. To commemorate the date, the City Floor Team put together a video log to convey what they have been through these past twelve months and to once again thank everyone – vendors, customers, employees, friends and family – for helping them through all the trials and tribulations this past year.

According to Mike Glavin, owner and founder of City Floor Supply, “Taking the time to reflect on this dynamic year of change, from the shock and sadness to the rebuild and expansion, really allowed us to see how far we’ve come and how much we’ve learned.”

The company began the rebuilding process almost immediately. While the building was still burning, management deployed a team to a temporary “command center” and immediately began executing their disaster recovery plan. Within days the distributor secured a temporary warehouse and resumed local and national delivery service. Online ordering resumed shortly thereafter. In late 2015, after an extensive site search, the company secured a new permanent warehouse and distribution center in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania – just 2 miles from their previous location.

A rebrand effort soon followed involving a name change (Philadelphia Floor Store to City Floor Supply), and a new logo and website. The company took occupancy of their new building in early 2016 and immediately went to work on an extensive renovation. Counter service for hardwood floor contractors resumed in March 2016. The Machine Repair Shop is currently under construction and is set to open in a few short weeks. The final piece – the administrative offices and designer showroom – is scheduled for completion in July 2016. “From day one we vowed to rise like a phoenix, and come back bigger, better and stronger than before and we’ve accomplished that goal! There are countless lessons we’ve learned along the way. From planning for the unexpected to understanding the importance of organization and commitment. We are most grateful to the people who offered their support – we would not be here today without their help,” Glavin continued.
