IICRC Opens Public Review for New Trauma and Crime Scene Remediation Standard
(LAS VEGAS) October 7, 2016 – The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has opened a public review for the new draft BSR-IICRC S540 Standard for Trauma and Crime Scene Remediation. The draft S540 Standard is available from Oct.7 – Nov. 21 for public review.

The IICRC S540 Standard describes the procedures to be followed and the precautions to be taken when performing trauma and crime scene remediation regardless of surface, item, or location. It defines criteria and methodology used by the technician for inspecting and investigating blood and other potentially infectious material (OPIM) contamination, and for establishing work plans and procedures.

The IICRC S540 draft Standard is available for review and comment as part of the ANSI 45-day public review period.
