Big Jim's Floors, Inc opened its doors officially November 1st, 2001.
Jim's first retail flooring experience came at North Georgia Carpets in McCaysville, Georgia. From there, he went to Smith's Floors & Walls, which later became Floormasters in Blue Ridge. Jim then went to work for Gordon's Flooring before going out on his own. All of these stores are out of business now, but this experience lead to the start of Big Jim's Floors.
Jim's additional experience in carpet manufacturing at World Carpets, Coronet Carpets, Crusader Carpets, Galaxy, Diamond, and Blue Ridge Carpets provided a wealth of knowledge about carpet as flooring, which was approximately 80% of the flooring business 25 years ago. Today these same companies are working in sales of vinyl, wood, laminate, and ceramics.
At Big Jim's Floors we have seen the need to move with flooring trends and keep up with all the products and installation information to better serve our customers. We offer a wide variety of carpet, hardwood, vinyl, and tile, with many different styles and designs.
Jim retired from the flooring business in 2016. Today, Big Jim's Floors is owned and operated by his son Mark. This is a family-oriented business with everyone trained in sales, service, and installations. We know people like to buy, not be sold.
