Myers Carpet was the first carpet outlet in Dalton, GA, the city heralded as the “Carpet Capital of the World”. The company was founded in 1957 by Mr. Gene Myers, who started out by buying scraps of unused carpet from local mills, and reworking them into stair treads or rugs and selling them through the areas chenille stores. Mr. Myers, with the help of his wife Evelyn, and later on sons Rick and Ray, soon opened Dalton’s first carpet store and began offering carpet from local mills. Since then, the company has grown to have 3 locations; the original Dalton location, Nashville, and Atlanta. With a focus on high quality products and service, Myers Flooring has grown to be a thriving business with over 100 employees, and a nationwide name in the flooring industry.
