During the remodel the consumer did not want the wall moved back. Then the fridge did not open so.....

Personally I like the seams just butted and not welded in residential settings.
What do you think about that patch?

Why was it welded? I totally agree about residential. I actively try to discourage welding residentially. But there have been 3 time I had to. (dang internet. TMI for the consumer)
I would have suggested a well done patch using Armstrong's sealer (I know, I know) and I would have taken the weld through the patch to mimic a seam look.
Did you have any trouble 'lacing' the weld with the existing trimmed seam. It is very easy to loosen the weld after it has had the final trim.

Barry, I did not install this, don't know who it was but his truck was in the driveway the other day when he came to heat up a bubble. I saw his Forbo bucket in the back.
I wouldn't have put a seam in that doorway myself but there is limited room to roll out twenty feet, besides needing a helper to tube it in there.
Besides that marmoleum scares me, it tears too easy. I could do a bathroom though. J/K
