When you're shopping for flooring, you'll find Shaw products under a variety of labels. Shop with confidence by looking for these widely distributed and respected Shaw brands.

Queen carpet is just one of the many brands of carpeting Shaw produces to the tune more than 600 million square yards of carpet each year, offering every color and style imaginable. With Shaw's comprehensive selection, you're sure to find the perfect product to meet every unique need and individual style. And with Queen carpet's versatility, it can be the ideal choice for any room in your home.

On the label of every Queen carpet  residential style, you'll find an easy-to-find, easy-to-understand "Performance Rating."

The scale is from 1 to 5, and it represents the  Queen carpet's ability to withstand extended wear. A perfect rating of 5 means that after rigorous, industry-standard testing, the carpet maintained the appearance of brand new carpet.

A Queen carpet with a rating of 4.0 or above is considered outstanding. These Queen carpets are recommended for heavy traffic locations, including family rooms and children's areas.

A Queen carpet rating of 2.5 to 4.0 is predicted to provide normal durability. These carpets can be used in most home applications if properly maintained and cleaned.

A Queen carpet rating below 2.5 should be considered for light to moderate traffic areas only, such as bedrooms.

It's not practical to associate years with the durability rating. There are so many variable factors--area of the home, traffic patterns, number of inhabitants, level of proper maintenance, etc.--that what might be only 3 years of acceptable performance to one could be a lifetime to another.

Queen carpets rating results from rigorous testing that conforms to industry standards. Some of the factors that determine a  Queen carpet's performance rating include the following:

Face weight - More ounces per square yard is better.
Twist - Higher twist helps resist crushing & matting
Density - Higher density improves comfort and performance

R2X™ - Shaw's patented soil and stain repellent system has been hailed as a new generation in soil and stain resistance technology since its introduction in 2001. It's as much of an innovation today as the first stain and soil treatments were fifteen years ago. Developed by Shaw's own Technical Services and Research and Development labs, the remarkable R2X system achieves total fiber coverage--from the top of the yarn to the bottom.

SoftBac® Platinum - In association with S.I. Flooring Systems, Shaw introduced SoftBac, a soft, flexible, carpet backing in 1997. The improved SoftBac Platinum was introduced just last year. Over 150 million square yards of the revolutionary flexible carpet backing have been installed with zero complaints for restretch. One industry observer wrote of SoftBac, "...on occasion, product introductions wind up doing more than we all expect."

EverTouch™ - Carpets made from EverTouch, an innovative, branded fiber from Shaw, are exceptionally soft yet remarkably durable. Touching is believing. All it takes to appreciate its incredible softness is simply to feel it.
